Joy McMillen Tutoring is a service offered to students with a variety of ages and experiences, whether that be Early Years and Key Stage 1 children or a mature student retaking exams or wanting to brush up on their subject knowledge. I offer friendly, objective focused sessions which can be face to face or online and either 1:1 or in a group.
'The extra boost we got for our youngest son leading up to his GCSEs made all the difference. Thanks to Joy the progression to his choice of A' Levels was painless. We were so glad to see the benefit from his Maths tuition and Joy's focus to get the best results.' |
'Joy tutored me for a number of months for my maths gcse. I never would of imagined getting a B without her. Joy is very patient, approachable and an easy to get along with tutor. I saw her more as a friend than my tutor.' |
'In the years that Joy has worked with Sara, I've seen good progress. Sara is now able to read short texts, write and is able to complete Maths problems, this wasn't possible before. In P5, Sara was diagnosed with dyslexia and Joy was able to support us through this. Sara and Joy get along very well together which is reassuring.' |
'Joy is a pleasant and friendly girl who is patient and breaks down tasks for my understanding in numeracy. In other words making it simple. I would definitely recommend her even to more mature people like myself.' |
'As a parent having Joy tutor my son for GCSE maths is comforting. There is no running around as she comes directly to the house. My son finds this easier as its tutoring in his own environment. Using Joy has given my son confidence in Maths and he has moved up 2 grades under her direction. I would and have recommended her to my friends.' |
'Joy has helped me so much with my maths. I have lacked confidence and she has boosted it. Friendly and calm approach to her teaching. And I like her coming to the house. The hour passes very quickly.' |
